Applying pythagorean method to everything
Back in 1976, the NASA probe Viking 1 arrived in orbit above Mars. This two stage probe would map the surface of the planet before splitting and sending down a lander onto the surface. The lander packed with scientific testing equipment and cameras managed to safely touch down and send back images and soil tests. The aim was to see if any microbial life was detectable as the planet once had ocean and rivers which could have supported organic life. Viking 1 managed to keep working right up until 1982. Today it has been made into a memorial station in hour of a senior team member Thomas Mutch. #mars #Viking
